Terms and Conditions

1 Introduction
1.1 These Rules shall be binding on you (“you”) when you enter this program operated by American Express Middle East & North Africa (“AEME”) and Trade Arabia.com.

2 Eligibility to enter competitions
2.1 All AEME Basic Gold Credit Cards issued through the Trade Arabia Portal will be eligible for the promotion.

2.2 This offer is only valid for the Basic New Gold Credit Cardmembers applying through the Trade Arabia Website.

2.3 People entering the promotion will go through the normal AEME documentation process for Card Approval.

2.4 Gold Credit Card Accounts that are closed or terminated prior to the draw dates will not be eligible for the draw.

2.5 AEME reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.

2.6 Unless otherwise stated, only one entry per person will be permitted.

2.7 American Express Middle East has the right to decline any application without disclosing the reason.
All Questions or disputes regarding the eligibility for the Programme will be resolved by AEME at its sole discretion.

3 Raffle Draw - General

3.1 This offer is valid for residents of Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE and Lebanon.

3.2 This offer is Valid from the 16th September 2007 to the 15th December 2007.

3.3 All Gold Credit Cards approved & issued from the 16 September to 15 December through applicants from the Trade Arabia website will automatically entitle the cardmember to one entry into the Raffle Prize draw.

3.4 Offer subject to all other Cardmembers terms and conditions of American Express Middle East & North Africa.

3.5 Only approved and activated basic American Express® Gold Credit Card will qualify for the draw.

3.6 Draws will take place in the presence of Ministry of Commerce Officials on the following dates:

(i) October 28th, for applicant who apply from the 16th of Sept to 15th of October,

(ii) November 25th for applicants who apply from the 16th of Oct to the 15th of Nov

(iii) December 24th 2007 for applicants who apply from the 16th of Nov to the 15th of Dec.

Winners will be notified through the AEME Customer Service Department.

3.7 The draw’s will be conducted at the AEME Head Office at Al Moayed Tower located in the Kingdom of Bahrain as per the aforementioned draw dates.

3.8 Applications received after the above mentioned dates of the Draw will not be included in the draw.

3.9 AEME does not accept responsibility for applications lost, damaged or delayed due to any reason and not included in the draws

3.10 The decision of AEME is final and conclusive in all circumstances and no correspondence will be entered into.

3.11 AEME reserves the right, in its reasonable discretion, to add to or to waive any Terms on reasonable notice.

4 Claims to prizes

4.1 AEME reserves the right to request proof of identity. If you refuse to provide any of these details without a good reason then your place in the Competition will be treated as invalidated and the Prize may be withdrawn.

4.2 If AEME becomes aware of any fraud, deceit, misconduct or similar action during or in relation to the Raffle Draw which relates in any way to a claim, then that claim will not be met unless it is proven to the satisfaction of AEME, that you had no actual or imputed knowledge of such fraud or deceit or similar action. Then AEME reserves the absolute right to treat that entry as invalid (whether or not such information comes to light before or after you have made the claim). If the fraud, deceit, misconduct or other action is only discovered after the Prize has been released, you undertake to return the same (or provide compensation) to AEME forthwith upon notification by AEME.

4.3 The promotion mechanics are: Apply for an American Express® Gold Credit Card through the Trade Arabia Website, Gain Card Approval and card activation, as mentioned above, between 16 September 2007 and 15th December 2007, and receive 1 draw entry for the chance to win - 1 BlackBerry Mobile Phone. Furthermore, pay with any of your American Express Cards for the Trade Arabia Premium Content Section and get a 15% Discount.

4.4 Cardmembers can contact AEME to know the status of the draw entries. Separate Statements or any other correspondence on draw entries earned or draw entry status will not be sent by AEME to Cardmembers.

4.5 Failure to claim a Prize in the time or manner specified for the relevant Raffle Draw will make any claim invalid. 

4.6 There will only be a maximum of 5 winners per month totaling a maximum of 15 prizes for promotion period. The winners will be announced on the AEME website as well as the Trade Arabia website.

4.7 Winners of Prizes will be notified within (30) days of the relevant draw date

4.8 All prizes must be claimed within 30 days of notification or prizes will be forfeited.

4.9 Employees of AEME, TRADE ARABIA, their advertising agency MEMAC OGILVY and associated companies are not eligible to take part in this promotion.

5 Prizes

5.1 The Winners will get an 8800 Model BlackBerry Mobile Phone.

5.2 All Prizes are non-transferable and may not be given, assigned to another person. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.

5.3 AEME does not accept any liability for Prizes which are lost, delayed or damaged in the post or otherwise not validly received by you.

5.4 In the event of unforeseen circumstances or circumstances outside AEME’s reasonable control, AEME reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal value. No cash will be offered.

5.5 Please retain your active AEME Gold Credit Card as proof to claim the prize.

6 Cancellation of Entries or the Competition

6.1 AEME has the right to change, alter, modify, amend, pre-pone or postpone any part(s) of the Trade Arabia Programme at its sole discretion. No explanation need be provided by AEME in this regard.

7 Publicity

7.1 Winners must as a condition of the Prize participate in all required publicity. 

7.2 Cardmembers declared as winner(s) in the Trade Arabia program draw will be announced on the AEME & Trade Arabia website and AEME shall not seek the permission of the winners for such announcement or press releases on winner name announcements.

7.3 You acknowledge and agree that AEME may publish winners’ names on any and all media and make these available on request to third parties.
